It is in a way, the climax of the album, The Night God Slept.
It flips the perspective-- maybe it isn’t God who sleeps, maybe it’s us.

The human in the design is symbolic of both Jesus, and humanity.

It symbolizes Jesus in the intense scene of Matthew 26:36-46. In this moment, shortly before his crucifixion, Jesus is completely alone in a garden. He is praying desperately, even sweating blood as his disciples, his closest friends, fall asleep in the distance. Even in his human brokenness he still embodies divine love and goes to the cross to defeat death.

Humanity is represented by the figure’s demeanor of shame and regret, in realization of the times they have “slept”. It’s a confession of our shortcomings, and comfort that we are loved in spite of our failures. Since Jesus suffered in the garden and through the cross, to defeat death, God can turn our shame into beauty and give us life that is brighter than sunflowers.
